Deepak Adhikari
Hi, I'm Deepak Adhikari, a Kathmandu-based Nepali journalist.
Currently a Nepal correspondent for AFP. Oversaw a weekend supplement of Kantipur Daily, Nepal's largest selling newspaper (from March 2009 to November 14 2010). Freelance reporting to Time.com, Guardian Weekly, a weekly newspaper published by Guardian Media, UK, and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, second largest daily in Pennsylvania, US. Contributed for OhMyNews International, a citizen journalism Web site from South Korea (2006-7). Stringed for World Entertainment News Network, a UK headquartered news agency. Articles have appeared at online journals such as Open Democracy, Nepal Monitor. Worked from April1, 2008 to August 30, 2008 at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a daily published from Pittsburgh and read throughout Western Pennsylvania, US. In 2002, started to contribute to Nepal Weekly, Nepal's largest selling news magazine and eventually joined its editorial team in April 2004. Blogger since October 2004 (with Nepal's pioneer United We Blog!) and have been maintaining personal blog Deepak's Diary: www.deepakadk.blogspot.com Worked as a senior reporter in a weekly Kathmandu tabloid Drishti Weekly (1994-1998) covering parliamentary affairs, politics and social issues for four years. Interviewed more than forty politicians of Nepal's major political parties at a time of political uncertainty and democratic exercise.
